alberge "polideportivo" (sports center) of Ayegui (which is a suburb of Estella). The hospitalero Peter is from Germany and when Mai arrived in her Barcelona Messi T-shirt he immediately changed his T-shirt to the same. So its two Messis (hopefully not messies) on the camino now. Mai choose this alberge because the dormitory is in the "ballett room". Funny idea to make an alberge there. July 6th leaving Ayegui via Villamayor de Monjardin to Los Arcos. the last 12 km there is no bar or water fountain on the way, make sure you have enough water in the heat. we met a Japanese man on the way and again Sophie from Paris who is our "good old friend" now already. |

Here a historical moment in time - Sophie from Paris promised to stop smoking for the rest of her life in exchange for my mango. Right after the foto she gave away her tobacco left and up to now she kept her promise and changed her life ! ! ! If she ever starts smoking, I will get a box of delicous mangos from her.
Alberge "Austria" in Los Arcos. We arrived there very early, so in the afternoon we had plenty of time to meet our friends Kyoko, Miguel and Akira who live near Los Arcos. They picked us up in their fast sports car - oh what fun it was to ride to their home after so many km walking. The body is not used to driving any more. Thank you Kyoko and Miguel for showing us around and the delicious food at your home which was so good, I forgot to take fotos while eating. Only a foto of the bones left . . .
July 7th from Los Arcos to Logrono. On the way there is Maria, the daughter of "donna Felica". This lady sits on the camino all day long and puts her beautiful stamp in Pilgrims Credentials (thats the kind of passport pigrims need, qualifies to stay in alberges etc). We started late for Logrono and arrived there late. The municipal alberge was full already, but luckily we could stay in the alberge of the church.
church alberge in Logrono. Here we met Rita from Padua (Italy) and Giacomo Mininni (Italy). Also Laura from Hungary and her daughter Tamara (above).
